At the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Aesthetic Meeting in Montreal, new officials were elected for the 2015-2016 term.

James C. Grotting , MD, of Birmingham, Alabama, a board-certified plastic surgeon with a private practice, will serve as president.

Grotting is currently a clinical professor of plastic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Expanding aesthetic fellowships to plastic surgery residents will be a goal of Grotting’s tenure as president, according to the press release. Other goals include improving aesthetic education for members, improving relationships within the national and global plastic surgery community and emphasizing the importance of patient safety in aesthetic plastic surgery.

New officers to the Executive Committee include:

President-Elect: Daniel C. Mills, II, MD;

Vice-President: Clyde H. Ishii, MD;

Treasurer: W. Grant Stevens, MD; and

Secretary: Charles Thorne, MD.
