The Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists has announced the appointment of its new president, Nina Spadaccino, according to a press release.
Spadaccino is a licensed medical aesthetician in both Texas and Pennsylvania. She is currently the practice director at Town & Country Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa, as well as a general partner of EventsRx, a physicians’ marketing and consulting firm in Houston.
As part of the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists’ (SPSSCS) image-enhancement team, Spadaccino volunteered her expertise to help burn victims as part of the annual World Burn Congress in October 2010, as well as in September 2012, when she educated burn survivors on how to choose and apply camouflage makeup to boost their self-esteem, according to the release.
“This society was created based on a need to educate and provide clinical skills to skin care specialists in the offices of board-certified plastic surgeons,” immediate past-president, Elena Reyes, C-RMA, RST, said in the release. “Ms. Spadaccino’s extensive experience in plastic surgical skin care serving as a clinical aesthetician and laser specialist for over a decade will serve her well in addressing this need.”
Founded in 1994, the SPSSCS is the only national skin care specialty organization aligned with plastic surgery specialty and is comprised of 350 nurse and aesthetician members, according to the release.
