“The meeting was a success by every parameter we have looked at,” Mark G. Lebwohl, MD, FAAD, AAD president, told Healio.com/Dermatology. Highlights of the meeting included expanded late-breaking research sessions and symposia “packed from the beginning moments to the end,” he said.

The meeting consisted of nearly 400 educational sessions with more than 900 speakers focusing on the diagnosis of skin, hair and nail conditions, according to a press release. Additionally, more than 10,000 medical personnel attended the meeting, which included more than 1,000 scientific posters.

“The dermatologists who joined us in San Francisco gained valuable knowledge that will allow them to continue providing high-quality patient care in an ever-changing environment,” Joan Guitart, MD, FAAD, chair of the AAD’s Scientific Assembly Committee, said in the release.
