Four members join American Academy of Dermatology board of directors

SAN FRANSISCO — Four members of the American Academy of Dermatology commenced their 4-year terms on the AAD board of directors at the conclusion of the Academy's annual meeting here, according to a press release.
Marc D. Brown, MD, FAAD; Janet G. Hickman, MD, FAAD; Mark D. Kaufmann, MD, FAAD; and Gary S. Wood, MD, FAAD, were elected to the board in April 2014 and have now assumed those roles. Each will also serve on the board of directors for the American Academy of Dermatology Association, the release stated.
Brown is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery's board of directors and has previously served as president of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the International Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative, and the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Hickman currently serves on the Academy's investment committee. She is also a member of Centra Foundation's board of directors and president of the Women's Dermatologic Society.
Kaufmann currently serves as one of the Academy's RUC advisors, chair of the business and operations support taskforce, and co-chair of the EHR implementation task force.
Wood serves as the secretary-treasurer of the Association of Professors of Dermatology. Before his appointment, he served as president of the International Society for Cutaneous Lymphomas and the National Association of VA Dermatologists.
