SAN FRANSISCO — The American Academy of Dermatology's newest vice president, Timothy G. Berger, MD, FAAD, officially assumed his position at the conclusion of the Academy's annual meeting, held here.

"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to serve the Academy at a time of real challenge, with a lot of changes in the health care system," Berger said in a press release. "I'm delighted that the Academy membership has trusted me to play a role in guiding the organization through these uncharted waters."

Berger previously served as a member of the Academy's board of directors, and as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

He will hold the position of vice president for 1 year, while holding the same position for the American Academy of Dermatology Association, the release stated.
