DermSpectra has announced an original equipment manufacturer relationship with Nikon, in which a Nikon D810 camera and NIKKOR optics will be integrated into its Total Body Digital Skin-Imaging System.

The system allows physicians to monitor skin changes, including those from skin cancers, eczema, lesions, psoriasis and rashes, according to a company press release. It includes high-resolution imaging, HIPPA-compliant secure storage and immediate viewing capabilities.

The integration of the Nikon D810 camera will allow DermSpectra to provide precise digital imaging capabilities using NIKKOR optics for clarity, according to the release.

Patients experience an in-office short imaging session of 8 to 10 minutes, while a physician can view the latest digital images on a desktop computer or iPad, annotate directly to the images and securely store them to a HIPPA-compliant server database, eliminating the need for post-appointment documentation.

DermSpectra reported it will exhibit the system at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting on March 20-24 in San Francisco.
