Syneron Medical has appointed William Griffing to the newly created position of CEO of Syneron Candela North America as part of an enhanced leadership team.

Griffing will be responsible for aligning and managing the Yokneam, Israel-based aesthetic device company’s growth strategies for its North American business, with sales, marketing, clinical education and customer service reporting directly to him and relevant corporate managers. He will also be part of Syneron’s global management team, according to a company press release.

Griffing was vice president and general manager of Bayer Healthcare’s U.S. dermatology business prior to joining Syneron Candela.

Syneron Candela will include an aesthetic division, a body division and a CoolTouch division in North America, each with separate sales organizations — the executives of which will report to Griffing, according to the release.

The company’s portfolio covers a range of medical applications, including non-invasive fat destruction, body contouring, hair removal, wrinkle reduction, as well as the treatment of acne, leg veins and cellulite under the brands Syneron, Candela and CoolTouch, the release stated.
