Galderma Laboratories has announced the launch of Benzac Acne Solutions, its first over-the-counter acne regimen.

Benzac uses salicylic acid to treat acne and prevent new breakouts, while also using pharmaceutical-grade East Indian Sandalwood Oil to soothe the skin.

During a clinical study, 91% of participants with acne saw improvements within 2 weeks of using the new three-step Benzac Acne Solutions plan, according to a company release.

“Benzac is the only skin care line to use East Indian Sandalwood Oil, which has been used for thousands of years in Eastern medicine and is known to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and soothes the skin,” board-certified dermatologist, Jeanine Downie, MD, said in the release.

The product also contains Kakadu plum, lemon myrtle and zinc, and is dermatologist-tested, non-comedongenic and does not contain artificial fragrances and dyes, according to the release.
