Integra LifeSciences Holdings has introduced the Integra Meshed Dermal Regeneration Template, which received pre-market approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for third-degree burns and scar contracture procedures, according to a press release.

The collagen-chondrotin-6-sulfate, pre-meshed bilayer matrix is indicated for postexcisional treatment of full-thickness or deep partial-thickness thermal injuries, and for repairing scar contractures when other therapies have been unsuccessful. Full market release in the United States is expected to begin in January, according to the release.

“Integra Meshed Dermal Regeneration Template … complements our burn product portfolio, and combines the proven collagen technology of Integra Dermal Regeneration Template with the convenience of pre-meshed configuration,” William Weber, vice president and general manager, Integra Orthopedics and Tissue Technologies, said in the release.

The one-time-use product is terminally sterilized, can be kept at room temperature and has a 24-month shelf life, according to the release. It is to be featured at the John A. Boswick Burn and Wound Care Symposium on Feb. 14-18, 2015, in Maui, Hawaii.
