Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists names Reyes president

Elena Reyes, C-RMA, RST, has been named president of the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists, it was announced at the society’s annual meeting in San Francisco.

“[Reyes’] passion and commitment to the enhancement of educational skills in the medical aesthetics field will further advance SPSSCS’ mission to promote and educate plastic surgical skin care professionals worldwide,” Abbey Helton, BSN, RN, CPSN, outgoing SPSSCS president, said in a press release.

Reyes, a licensed master aesthetician, has an international CIDESCO diploma and has been involved in the medical and surgical field for more than 13 years. She holds associate of applied science degrees as a medical assistant and registered surgical technologist, and has worked with plastic surgeons Christopher Hauge, MD, and James Hoyt, MD, according to the release.

“SPSSCS provides an educational forum for the emerging specialty of plastic surgical skin care,” Reyes said in the release. “I look forward to working with our members to expand this platform, making it an even more accessible resource.”

SPSSCS includes nurses, aestheticians, and office and skin care administrators. Its meeting was held in conjunction with The Aesthetic Meeting, the annual meeting of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation.
