On Thursday, April 17, Jonathan Fisher, MD, FACC, will discuss his book Just One Heart: A Cardiologist's Guide to Healing, Health, and Happiness, which can help readers to lead a fulfilling life by overcoming stress and burnout and living compassionately.

“It’s a joy to connect with readers who are exploring not just how to heal the heart physically, but how to live more fully with presence, courage and compassion,” Fisher told Healio.

“In a time when so many clinicians are facing burnout and stress, this book has a message that resonates for all of us: how it is vitally important to prioritize our emotional and mental wellness for our ‘whole’ health,” Bhargava, chief of clinical strategy and innovation at Healio, said. “I am very much looking forward to this conversation!”

In his book, Fisher, cardiologist at Novant Health, mindfulness teacher and co-founder of the Ending Clinician Burnout Global Community, shares a new path to well-being that involves integrating the physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of the heart. The book includes personal and patient stories as well as scientific literature and interviews.

He describes the “seven timeless traits of the heart” and how practicing these qualities can encourage holistic health and vitality and help to overcome stress and burnout. These characteristics, such as openness and warmth, will allow readers to face life’s challenges with resilience and deepen their connections with others.

“I wrote Just One Heart to remind us that healing begins when we feel safe, seen and supported. I’m honored to be part of a conversation that makes space for that kind of healing,” Fisher added.
