Fact checked byRichard Smith

ATLANTA — In this Healio video exclusive, Seth S. Martin, MD, MHS, FAHA, discusses research into lipid disorders from the American College of Cardiology Scientific Session, examining a study into lipoprotein(a) testing.

Martin, a cardiologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital, professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Healio | Cardiology Today Editorial Board Member, discussed the study, which looked into datasets that shed light on Lp(a) testing levels and demographics.

“This is going to be something we’ll continue to track within our health system. We know other health systems are doing the same, and there’s still overall low amounts of Lp(a) testing, but at least within our health system, it appears to be increasing,” Martin said.
