DANA POINT, Calif. — In this Healio video exclusive, the co-chairs of the Cardiometabolic Health Congress (CMHC) Women’s Cardiometabolic Health and Wellness Masterclass discuss the goals of the meeting.
“We all need to better educate ourselves about how to best optimize the cardiometabolic health of female patients,” Healio | Cardiology Today Editorial Board Member Erin D. Michos, MD, MHS, associate professor of medicine and director of Women's Cardiovascular Health at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and co-chair of the meeting, said.
In addition to the educational sessions, networking opportunities, wellness breaks and activities such as yoga and Zumba at the meeting, “this year, we developed a new program called The Future Cardiometabolic Leaders Program, where we selected five trainees ... that we will be mentoring and helping guide their careers as future leaders of cardiometabolic medicine,” Pam R. Taub, MD, founder and director of the Step Family Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Center and professor of medicine at UC San Diego Health System, and co-chair of the meeting, said.
