LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In this Healio video exclusive, Kim Allan Williams Sr., MD, MACC, FAHA, MASNC, looks back on changes since the release of the 2017 American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Hypertension Guidelines.
At the American Society for Preventive Cardiology Congress on CVD Prevention, Williams, who is chair of the department of medicine at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, editor in chief of the International Journal of Disease Reversal and Prevention, past president of the ACC and a member of the Cardiology Today Editorial Board, discusses how, moving forward, factors such as ethnicity, nutrition and a wider understanding of the gut microbiome are needed to further improve BP control on a population level.
