VIDEO: Handelsman talks interdisciplinary guidance for cardio-renal-metabolic disease

PHILADELPHIA — In this Healio video exclusive, Yehuda Handelsman, MD, FACP, FNLA, FASCP, MACE, discussed the recently published multidisciplinary guidelines for diabetes and cardio-renal-metabolic diseases.
The guidelines were published in December 2021 in the Journal of Diabetes and Its Complications.
As Healio previously reported, the recommendations developed by the Diabetes, CardioRenal Metabolic Diseases Task Force covered 18 interrelated cardiometabolic disorders are designed for use by both primary care physicians and specialists.
In this video, Handelsman, who is co-chair of the Heart in Diabetes CME conference, medical director and principal investigator of the Metabolic Institute of America in Tarzana, California, Endocrine Today Editorial Board Member and coauthor of the guidelines, discusses the synthesis of the document and its use in clinical practice.
