In this video, David E. Lanfear, MD, MS, FHFSA, advanced HF specialist and program director of the Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, discusses the new HF guidelines presented at the American College of Cardiology Scientific Session.

The new guidelines followed a new definition of HF presented at last year’s ACC, and “changes a lot in terms of how we define heart failure and the labeling that we put on it,” according to Lanfear.

Lanfear said the guidelines also provide clarifications on new drug therapies.
