ACC, cliexa introduce remote CV monitoring platform

The American College of Cardiology and cliexa unveiled a remote CV health monitoring platform, according to a press release.

Using the platform cliexa-Pulse, clinicians can manage patients with CV conditions such as atrial fibrillation, hypertension and HF between appointments. Patients’ symptoms, medications and daily activity are inputted, which is seen immediately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, according to the release.

"Using the cliexa platform allows for easy EMR integration along with the ability to capture chronic care codes, resulting in efficient personalized care,” Andrew M. Freeman, MD, FACC, a member of the ACC’s Innovation Program-cliexa Work Group and director of cardiovascular prevention and wellness at National Jewish Health, said in the release. “Further, with the upcoming population health tool, I can follow my entire panel of patients and help those in need sooner.”

cliexa became one of ACC’s first official technology partners in its Innovation Program following cliexa’s placement in Innovation Challenge at the ACC’s 2019 Annual Scientific Session. The partnership focused on making the cliexa-Pulse platform patient- and clinician-friendly.

"With the clinical guidance from ACC we have been receiving while developing this platform, we have built a great foundation that can be iterated for other chronic conditions,” Mehmet Kazgan, founder and CEO of cliexa, said in the release. “The views and feedback from ACC's experts in the design work group helped us further understand the real needs and challenges for cardiology patient monitoring."
