MIAMI — In this video, Robert P. Giugliano, MD, SM, discusses some major points from his keynote at the National Lipid Association Scientific Sessions on available data and potential benefits of achieving very low LDL levels.

Giugliano, senior investigator in the TIMI Study Group, cardiovascular medicine physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, said existing and future research on this topic is very promising.

“The future looks bright for aggressive LDL lowering,” Giugliano said. “We’ll learn more about these ultra-low LDLs moving forward, but so far, I don’t have any really concern about achieving very low LDLs and I think it’s better for our patients.”
