LAS VEGAS — In this video exclusive, Cardiology Today Editorial Board Member Timothy Henry, MD, FACC, MSCAI, Lindner Family Distinguished Chair in Clinical Research and medical director of The Carl and Edyth Lindner Center for Research at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, discusses highlights of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions Scientific Sessions.

Henry, who is vice president of SCAI, said two standouts had to do with cardiogenic shock: a new cardiogenic shock classification scheme from SCAI “that will change our approach to cardiogenic shock in terms of how we do clinical trials and registries” and data presented from the National Cardiogenic Shock Initiative showing that following an algorithm improves survival rates in patients with cardiogenic shock.
