MIAMI — In this video exclusive, Alan S. Brown, MD, FNLA, FACC, FAHA, provides insight into major sessions from the National Lipid Association Scientific Sessions with topics such as diets from different regions, medications for treatment beyond lipids and omega-3 fatty acids.

Brown, who is the director of the division of cardiology at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, co-director of the cardiology service line for the Advocate Medical Group in Park Ridge, clinical associate professor at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Park Ridge, and president of the National Lipid Association, also told Cardiology Today about two manuscripts that were presented at the meeting on lipoprotein(a) and the cost-effectiveness of PCSK9 inhibitors.
