At the AHA Scientific Sessions, Cardiology Today and Healio.com/Cardiology provided comprehensive coverage of some of the biggest cardiology stories of 2018, including new cholesterol and physical activity guidelines; the REDUCE-IT study, which established icosapent ethyl (Vascepa, Amarin), an omega-3 fatty acid, as a viable therapy for prevention of CV events in high-risk patients with elevated triglycerides; and the PIONEER-HF study, which showed sacubitril/valsartan (Entresto, Novartis) was effective in patients with acute decompensated HF.

ASHPE recognizes outstanding editorial and design excellence and achievement in health care publications. The annual competition provides an opportunity for editors to measure their efforts and publications against the best the health care sector has to offer.

“Our staff’s ongoing efforts have earned these exceptional honors and I am ecstatic that their hard work is recognized,” said Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Chief Content Editor of Healio. “Earning these awards is a demonstration of our dedication to provide physicians with timely, relevant news and information.”
