Cardiology Today names leading early career innovators

Issue: April 2017

In this issue, Cardiology Today unveils the inaugural list of Next Gen Innovators — a bright group of early career cardiologists identified as innovators in the field.

The Next Gen Innovators were compiled based on nominations from the Cardiology Today physician Editorial Board. These leaders represent the next generation of cardiologists who are working to educate their colleagues, conduct research on new and novel strategies to advance CV care, and innovate the unique aspects of the cardiology specialty. This group has a wide range of focuses, from prevention to intervention, from heart failure to electrophysiology.

Cardiology represents a changing and growing field of medical practice, and our hope is that the Cardiology Today Next Gen Innovators list will be a great tool for kick-starting conversations. We plan to continue working with the Next Gen Innovators as a way to encourage discussion and to share viewpoints about issues facing physicians in cardiology. The Cardiology Today team will be surveying the Next Gen Innovators on a regular basis to gather insight on the latest debates in the field and reaching out for perspectives on approvals, guidelines, and the newest data both published and presented.

“We would like to congratulate the members of the Next Gen Innovators and thank them for all of their individual accomplishments and contributions to the specialty. We look forward to working with this unique group of early career cardiologists to help bring a broader scope and perspective to readers. It’s another step in our ongoing commitment to the entire cardiology community,” said Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Chief Content Officer of SLACK Incorporated, the publisher of Cardiology Today.

Cardiology Today has exciting plans for the Next Gen Innovators in the year ahead. The list will be updated and published annually thereafter. Please contact the Editors at cardiology@healio.com if you would like to nominate yourself or a colleague, and if you wish to share articles and other ideas for Cardiology Today.
