Introducer sheath for endovascular aneurysm repair launched

W.L. Gore & Associates announced it has launched an introducer sheath for use in endovascular aneurysm repair procedures.
The company stated in a press release that the product (Gore DrySeal Flex Introducer Sheath) will now be sold in the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia after recently being cleared for marketing in those regions.
According to the release, the next-generation sheath is engineered for use with an iliac branch endoprosthesis (Gore Excluder) and is designed for enhanced flexibility, kink resistance. In addition, the company stated, a hydrophilic coating enables better access to branch vessels, including iliac arteries, during endovascular repair procedures.
A valve exclusive to the sheath is designed to minimize blood loss to introduce multiple devices while allowing hemostasis control, according to the release.
The sheath is available in lengths of 33 cm, 45 cm and 65 cm, the company stated.
