Slack Incorporated, publisher of Cardiology Today’s Intervention in association with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, has expanded the focus of the publication to increase coverage of vascular and cardiac intervention.

“I am excited to introduce further editorial coverage, reporting of additional meetings and perspective to meet the evolving information needs of our community,” Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Editor of Cardiology Today’s Intervention, executive director of interventional cardiovascular programs at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Heart and Vascular Center, and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, said in a press release.

The expansion will be reflected in the upcoming September/October issue of the newsmagazine, which will feature a roundtable of cardiac and vascular specialists discussing the growing use of and interest in vascular interventions. The issue will be available onsite at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics conference in San Francisco, Oct. 11 to 15.

The Cardiology Today’s Intervention staff will also be providing onsite coverage of upcoming meetings with a focus on vascular intervention, including VIVA 15 and ISET 2016.

The publication will collaborate with thought leaders in the specialty on articles and commentaries, so that physicians will remain informed on all developments in the field. Contributing physicians may include:

  • Amjad AlMahameed, MD, MPH
  • Gary M. Ansel, MD
  • Subhash Banerjee, MD
  • Michael R. Jaff, DO
  • John R. Laird, MD
  • Kenneth Rosenfield, MD
  • Mehdi H. Shishehbor, DO
  • Christopher J. White, MD
  • Mark Wholey, MD

“The strong joint commitment by Cardiology Today’s Intervention and CRF will continue to help specialists stay informed on the most-needed updates in our profession, ultimately translating into improved outcomes for patients in our care,” Bhatt said in the release.
