Electrophysiology and pacing specialist Raffaele Corbisiero, MD, recently participated an international panel on HF sponsored by St. Jude Medical.

Corbisiero, vice chair of cardiovascular medicine and director of the Deborah Heart and Lung Center’s Electromechanical Therapy Institute in Browns Mills, N.J., was one of two physicians from the United States selected to serve on the Multisite Pacing Advisory Board in Venice. The board included a dozen specialists in heart rhythm disorders and implantable devices who discussed the future of cardiac resynchronization therapy technologies. Corbisiero joined Christophe Leclerq, MD, PhD, of CHU-Hospital Ponchaillou in Rennes, France, in a discussion about emerging lead technologies for left ventricular pacing and the management of patients who are unresponsive to traditional biventricular cardiac resynchronization therapy. Corbisiero’s panel also discussed programming and troubleshooting LV leads for the prevention of readmission to the electrophysiology lab.

The panel is scheduled to reconvene in March 2010 in Brussels, Belgium.
