The Vascular Disease Foundation awarded Society of Interventional Radiology member Barry T, Katzen, MD, FSIR, the Julius H. Jacobson II, MD, award for outstanding contributions to physician education, leadership and patient care in vascular disease.

Katzen started his career in the field of vascular disease more than 30 years ago. He has been dedicated to educating others about different trends and issues in the field of radiology, as well as building relationships with others to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

“Interventional radiology is about patient care, research, safety and — above all — collaboration. Dr. Katzen’s work in all these areas is groundbreaking,” Society of Interventional Radiology president Timothy P. Murphy, MD, FSIR, said in a press release.
