Trial tested whether telemonitoring would reduce the primary endpoint of hospital readmission or all-cause mortality among patients who were recently hospitalized for HF.

Design: randomized, controlled
Patients: 1,653
Centers: multicenter
Countries: United States

Results: There was no significant difference in the primary endpoint between groups (P=.75). Rates of readmission for any reason in the telemonitoring group were 49.3% vs. 47.4% in the usual-care group, whereas mortality rates were 11.1% in the telemonitoring group vs. 11.4% in the usual-care group.
