Elliot K. Fishman, MD, was the recipient of the 2009 Radiological Society of North America Outstanding Educator award.

Fishman, a professor of radiology and oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and director of diagnostic imaging and body CT at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, also serves on the Society for Cardiovascular Computed Tomography Board of Directors. According to a press release, the award is given annually to one senior individual who has contributed significantly to the field of radiology or the radiologic sciences through teaching and education. Fishman was recognized for his inspirational and innovative teaching style, according to a press release.

Fishman joined the SCCT Board of Directors in July of 2009.
