Healio.com will present live coverage of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology annual meeting today through Feb. 24 in Houston.

The conference will highlight the latest research on up-and-coming treatments and new discoveries in asthma, food allergy, air pollution, immunotherapy and microbiomes.

Notable sessions include a presidential plenary entitled, Exercise-Induced Bronchoconstriction (EIB): Pathogenesis, Diagnosis and Treatment, and a session on how sugars can become allergens.

Other high-profile sessions include several keynote presentations, one by Hugh A. Sampson, MD, FAAAAI, on epicutaneous immunotherapy in the treatment of peanut allergy; another by Gideon Lack, MD, and colleagues on the Learning Early About Peanut Allergy (LEAP) study; and a session from Ann T. Esquivel, MD, and James E. Gern, MD, FAAAAI, on asthma exacerbations in inner-city children.
