Activity Description

This educational activity will utilize a case study to discuss a 49-year-old woman with 2 days of cough, fever, headache, and myalgia, including her subsequent clinical course, and prophylaxis of household members.

Target Audience

The intended audience for this activity is urgent care practitioners, family medicine physicians, internists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other health care professionals involved in the management of patients with or at risk for influenza.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Select antiviral treatment for influenza based on its efficacy, safety, resistance profiles, and ability to reduce complications.
  • Utilize antiviral prophylaxis in patients who are at high risk for influenza infection.

How to Participate in This Activity and Obtain CE Credit

To participate in this CE activity, you must read the objectives, answer the polling and pretest questions, view the case, and complete the posttest and evaluation. Provide only one (1) correct answer for each question. A satisfactory score is defined as answering 100% of the posttest questions correctly. Upon receipt of the completed materials, if a satisfactory score on the posttest is achieved, Vindico Medical Education will issue an AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ or CPE Statement of Credit.
