Activity Description
Regularly dosed intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapies provide visual and anatomical benefits to most patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME). However, due to the treatment burden associated with the frequency of these injections, benefits are often suboptimal compared with those of pinnacle clinical studies. The integration of personalized anti-VEGF regimens, along with recently FDA-approved therapies that offer extended intervals between injections, has demonstrated the ability to reduce the frequency of treatments while providing sustained visual and anatomical benefits. This CE activity utilizes Curbside Consults, a dynamic and interactive case-based platform that will highlight the appropriate selection of therapeutic regimens for patients with nAMD and DME based upon clinical presentation as well as the latest evidence on efficacy, safety, and durability.
Target Audience
The intended audience for this activity is ophthalmologists, retina specialists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients with retinal disorders.
Learning Objective
Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to select the most appropriate treatment regimen for patients with DME based upon clinical presentation, imaging, and the latest evidence on efficacy and safety.
