Biventricular pacing is an excellent option for certain patients with advanced HF. Also known as “cardiac resynchronization therapy,” biventricular pacing has been shown to improve HF symptoms in a majority of cases.

Asystole occurs when no electrical activity of the heart is seen.

A bifascicular block on ECG is defined by the combination of a right bundle branch block and either a left anterior fascicular block or left posterior fascicular block.

Twiddler’s Syndrome occurs when a patient with a permanent pacemaker manipulates the pulse generator usually by turning it multiple times. This results in the leads becoming dislodged and malfunctioning.
