Tricuspid Valve Excision

Historically, excision of the tricuspid valve was used without inserting a valve prosthesis.

The right atrium and right ventricular combine to form one right heart chamber. Most patients tolerate this fine without significant right heart failure, although a small percentage do go on to develop RV enlargement and pressure overload which can be problematic.
