Ticlopidine
Ticlopidine (Ticlid) is considered a thienopyridines and acts as a P2Y12 receptor blocker resulting in the inhibition of platelet aggregation.
Ticlopidine is related to the similar agents clopidogrel (Plavix), prasugrel (Effient), and ticagrelor (Brilinta).
Ticlopidine is given orally and is rarely used currently due to concerns with thrombocytopenia and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP).
Indications
Ticlopidine is indicated in the treatment of acute coronary syndromes and in the prevention of thrombotic events.

Bleeding, neutropenia (rare), thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura or TTP
