Chagas Disease

Chagas disease is the most common cause of dilated cardiomyopathy and systolic congestive heart failure in many developing countries.

Chagas disease is from the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi transmitted by triatomine bugs. Treatment includes nifurtimox or benznidazole.
