Bezold-Jarisch Reflex

The Bezold-Jarisch Reflex can occur after coronary reperfusion.

An increase in parasympathetic tone is the predominate feature from activation of chemoreceptors primarily in the left ventricle. It can at times be dramatic causing significant bradycardia and hypotension. Complete heart block can occur at times. The Bezold-Jarisch reflex is usually transient.
