Ajmaline is a class IA antiarrhythmic drug used diagnostically (not used therapeutically) to elicit ECG changes in patients suspected to have Brugada syndrome. When infused in the electrophysiology laboratory, the Brugada pattern on the ECG will be seen only if true Brugada syndrome is present.
