Question 26/28
What is the clinical significance of a left ventricular diverticulum?
A left ventricular diverticulum has no clinical significance. This is a congenital anomaly which is usually found incidentally and can sometimes be confused with a left ventricular aneurysm. There may be other associated congenital malformations present, however the diverticulum itself is not thought to cause any hemodynamic compromise or be a risk for thromboembolism.
