What is Auenbrugger sign?
The Auenbrugger sign occurs during a large pericardial effusion when an epigastric bulge is present. This represents the large pericardial effusion extending subxiphoid. Compression of this bulge may cause hemodynamic compromise and cardiac tamponade.
