Sara Karjoo, MD

Karjoo is a pediatric gastroenterologist with Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition of Florida LLC. She is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Florida State University School of Medicine. She is also an associate professor at University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Karjoo is a graduate of SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She completed her pediatric residency at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and later her gastroenterology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is currently board certified in pediatrics, pediatric gastroenterology and obesity medicine.

Karjoo is part of the Obesity Medicine Association’s Pediatric Committee, Speaker’s Bureau Committee, and Algorithm Committee. She is also part of the North American Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition Committee and the panel of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) speakers. She has done several talks on the topic of obesity, nutrition, and pediatric and adult NAFLD secondary to obesity. Her goals are to educate and raise awareness regarding the issues surrounding obesity and children.
