Amardeep Shrestha, MD
Amardeep Shrestha, MD, is an internal medicine physician and a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur, Nepal. After working as a primary care doctor in Nepal in a remote village for 2 years, he moved to the United States for further education. He completed his internal medicine residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He has been practicing as an internist since 2013, initially as a hospitalist. Since starting a primary care practice in 2019, he quickly realized the struggle people are having with obesity management and the need to get adequate education to be able to care for these patients. He is especially interested in obesity and metabolic diseases, such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes, and he advocates for overall health with routine inclusion of obesity discussion and counseling on a day-to-day basis with his patients in a primary setting.
